First Nation Relations and Capacity Development Branch

The First Nation Relations and Capacity Development branch leads Yukon government’s First Nation relations, governance and capacity development initiatives, including intergovernmental accords, forums and other intergovernmental meetings and processes.

Implementation and Reconciliation Branch

The Implementation and Reconciliation branch leads the negotiation of various agreements with First Nations. The branch also provides advice and guidance to Yukon government departments on Yukon’s obligations and responsibilities under the Final and Self-Government Agreements and supports Yukon government’s coordinated and effective ongoing implementation of the Agreements.

Policy and Consultation Branch

The Policy and Consultation branch provides advice and guidance to Yukon government departments on Yukon’s consultation obligations to First Nations. The branch also develops policies and mandates to guide the work of Yukon government and analyzes policies, strategies and draft legislation generated by Yukon, First Nation and other governments.
