Mandate

The Council manages and conducts the business and affairs of Association of Professional Engineers of Yukon (the “Association”) and exercises the powers of the Association in the name of and on behalf of the Association. The Board develops governing regulations and bylaws for the Association.

Membership

The Council is comprised of:

  • the President, Vice-President, immediate past president, and at least 3 other professional engineers or holders of limited licences, the number of which is prescribed by the bylaws, and each of whom is elected by the professional engineers and holders of limited licences at the time, in the manner, and for the period provided for in the bylaws; and
  • 1 member of the public appointed by the Minister of Community Services, after consulting with the Association.

Appointment process: Ministerial appointment

Requirements: The public member must be:

  • a Canadian citizen or a person who is lawfully admitted to Canada for permanent residence,
  • a resident of Yukon, and
  • not a professional engineer or holder of a limited licence of the Association.

Term: 2 years for the public member and 1 year for the President and Vice-President.

Meetings: At least once every 2 months. The President may convene a meeting at any time.
