First Nations Governance and Public Administration

The First Nations Governance and Public Administration (FNGPA) pilot initiative consists of courses offered by Yukon College, in partnership with the Governance Liaison and Capacity Development branch of the Yukon government.

Courses focus on the professional development of executive and senior management staff to enhance the operation of First Nation governments. Content is accessible, accredited and culturally relevant.

The FNGPA builds on the Executive Development Pilot Program certificate, a partnership between Champagne and Aishihik First Nations, Yukon College and Yukon government.

The long-term goal for the FNGPA is to open the courses to all Yukon First Nation, territorial, federal and municipal governments, as well as others interested in an FNGPA certificate.

This initiative values and respects Self-Governing First Nations’ journeys towards self determination.
